Las Caritas

Las Caritas, an auxiliary of Assistance League of Glendale, is composed of thirty-three members, many of whom are employed in the business world and in education. This auxiliary holds its monthly meetings in private homes during the evening.

An annual fundraiser and silent auction,"Springtacular", held at Santa Anita Racetrack funds these three philanthropic programs:

Path Achieve...A homeless shelter located in Glendale, receives monthly chef services from Las Caritas members. Teams of four or five members cook and serve full dinners for forty people.

Operation School Bell®...Las Caritas members provide and assemble health caches, which are included with the philanthropic program of the active chapter. These caches include badly needed hygiene supplies for children.

The Desi Geestman Foundation…This new philanthropic program provides special wishes for children who are enduring long cancer treatments. Families are supported through the endless months of emotional and physical upheaval. The Desi Geestman Foundation works closely with City of Hope where these children receive care and treatment for their diseases.
